3% over the first nine months of 2018, reaching over 1.83 million vehicles, despite ongoing headwinds in several major regions.
In September alone, a month that was marked by fierce competition in Europe, the German car maker saw its sales fall by 0.8% to 237,781 vehicles, with the group continuing to focus on profitable growth.
"The third quarter in Europe was significantly affected by market distortions caused by the introduction of the new WLTP testing procedure at the beginning of September," said Pieter Nota, Member of BMW's Management Board.
