BMW: 'large majority' of approved WLTP models

(CercleFinance.com) - Today, BMW announces that the great majority of the group's flagship models have already been approved under the new Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP).

The WLTP standard is used to measure fuel consumption, along with CO2 and polluting emissions by vehicles, replacing the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle), which has been in place since the 1990s. It aims to ensure that the results of the laboratory tests realistically reflect the operation of vehicles, and harmonise testing procedures worldwide.

In addition, according to the group, nearly 190 BMW models (petrol, diesel, BMW i, BMW iPerformance and BMW M) meet the Euro 6d TEMP emissions standard. This will come into effect in September 2019.
