BMW Group: posts record first-quarter sales, up 3%
(CercleFinance.com) - German premium carmaker BMW said on Friday that group sales in the first three months of the year rose by 3% to 604,629 units worldwide, a record for that quarter.
March 2018 was also the company's best ever single month for sales, with a total of 256,162 vehicles delivered (+0.5%).
Growth was lifted once again by what has become its largest market, China, where sales of BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce brands gained 6.2% but also, and more surprisingly, by Latin America where sales jumped by 9% last month.
Another encouraging point is that first-quarter electrified sales increased by 38.3%, with 26,858 vehicles delivered worldwide, the group said.
