Deutsche Bank: to propose John Thain as new board member

(CercleFinance.com) - Deutsche Bank said it plans to appoint three new members to its board, including ex-Merrill Lynch and NYSE CEO John Thain, in the midst of market rumours regarding its management team.

The supervisory board will submit a proposal to shareholders on 24 May that John Thain, who is currently a board member of Uber, is elected to the board.

Other nominees include Mayree Clark, the founder of Eachwin Capital, who previously spent 24 years with Morgan Stanley, and Michele Trogni, who spent 25 years at UBS.

As already announced last month, Norbert Winkeljohann - chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers Europe's management board - will also be proposed as a new member of the supervisory board.

These changes occur at a time when there has been a growing speculation that Chief Executive John Cryan will soon leave the group.
