Deutsche Bank: to sell Portuguese unit to Spain's Abanca
(CercleFinance.com) - Deutsche Bank said on Tuesday that it plans to sell its private and commercial banking unit in Portugal to Spanish financial group Abanca to sharpen its business and reduce complexity.
The German lender is sticking to its Portuguese operations in corporate and investment banking, providing services to corporate clients, financial institutions as well as government agencies.
The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2019.
