Deutsche Bank: ECB sets higher capital requirement for 2018

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Central Bank (ECB) has raised the bar for Deutsche Bank's prudential capital requirements as part of the European Union's prudential supervision of credit institutions and investment firms, the bank said on Friday.

Deutsche Bank said the ECB now requires it to maintain a phase-in common equity tier 1 (CET 1) ratio of at least 10.65% for 2018.

This is above Deutsche Bank's 2017 requirement of 9.52%, the German bank said.

However, there is nothing much to worry about, as at the end of the third quarter Deutsche Bank had a fully loaded common equity tier one (CET1) ratio of 13.8%.
