Swiss Re: UBS' Ermotti to become board chairman next year
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss Re said on Tuesday that Sergio Ermotti of UBS will replace Walter Kielholz as the new chairman of the board of directors next year.
The Swiss reinsurer will nominate Ermotti for election as a new, non-executive and independent member of the board at the upcoming annual general meeting on 17 April for a one-year term of office.
In 2021 he will be nominated to succeed Kielholz as chairman of the board, the group added.
Sergio Ermotti has been chief executive officer of UBS since 2011. Before joining the Swiss private bank, he was deputy CEO at Italian lender UniCredit.
