Nestlé: geographic reorganisation of businesses

(CercleFinance.com) - Nestlé announced on Wednesday a change in the geographical organisation of its businesses, with the Swiss group expressing its desire to better focus on growth markets.


It will create two new zones: North America - which will include the United States, its largest market, and Canada - and the Greater China region, one of the world's most dynamic markets.

This organisation will be completed by three other zones, namely Latin America (LATAM), including Brazil and Mexico, Europe, where the group is currently gaining market share, and Asia, Oceania and Africa (AOA), which will now include the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

This decision will bring us closer to consumers and customers, open up new business opportunities and allow us to be even more agile in an environment where consumer habits are changing rapidly, it said.

This news seems to overshadow the probe by French authorities announced earlier, with the share up 0.7% at lunchtime, outperforming a less dynamic SMI index.
