Nestlé: buys British natural pet food brand

(CercleFinance.com) - Nestle's Purina PetCare has acquired Lily's Kitchen, a British maker of premium wet and dry natural foods for cats and dogs, the Swiss food giant said on Wednesday.

Founded 12 years ago in Henrietta Morrison's kitchen in London, Lily's Kitchen is now distributed to 6,000 stores in 30 countries, proving to be particularly popular amongst younger pet owners and millennials.

Nestlé did not detail the terms of the deal, but said that Lily's product range will "perfectly complement" its Purina unit's existing brand portfolio.

Lily's Kitchen recently expanded into the Middle East and Asia and already has a growing presence in France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany, it said.
