Logitech: buys Californian live streaming specialist

(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss computer mouse maker Logitech said on Friday that it has agreed to buy San Francisco-based Streamlabs, a maker of software tools for live streamers and gamers, for approximately 89 million dollars in cash.

Streamlabs provides stream alerts, chat bot, overlays and tipping for live streaming, allowing game streamers to monetize their broadcasts across platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook.

“We've been fans of Streamlabs and their software since we started partnering with them over two years ago," Logitech said, noting that the company's software is complementary to its existing gaming portfolio, as Logitech also makes speakers, webcams and keyboards.

The deal includes an additional payment of 29 million dollars in Logitech shares, subject to reaching significant revenue growth targets for Streamlabs.

Logitech shares were up 0.6% after this announcement, with analysts at UBS saying that the deal represented an "interesting long term play."
