Alcon: a broader vision in contact lenses
(CercleFinance.com) - Eyecare specialist Alcon announced on Monday that it will reinforce its range of contact lenses for daily use with the launch of a new product that will boost its growth next year.
These contact lenses, which are made from silicone hydrogel (SiHy) have been found to be superior - in clinical trials - to Johnson & Johnson's 1-Day Acuvue Moist soft daily lenses. This is both in terms of vision, comfort and handling, Alcon said.
They are set to be launched in the United States in September, for a full commercialisation in early 2020.
Alcon - which says it is continuing to develop its "promising" pipeline of products - expects the strengthening of its contact lens portfolio will make a positive contribution to its growth as from 2020.
