ABB: wins Covid-19 robot deal in Singapore
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss engineering firm ABB said on Thursday that its robots have been deployed to increase Singapore's Covid-19 testing capacity by automating key laboratory processes.
The company said it has supplied four of its high-precision industrial robots, including simulation and programming support, as part of a pilot testing cell.
ABB has since received an order for an additional 14 robot units, the group said.
Singapore's new laboratory system automates some of the manual steps usually required in sample processing, with two sets of the platform being able to perform close to 4,000 samples a day.
