ABB: wins Japanese electric power system deal
(CercleFinance.com) - ABB has booked an order from Japanese industrial conglomerate Hitachi to supply a platform that enables market transactions in the electricity balancing market, the Swiss engineering group said on Friday.
The software will be used by utilities to enable procurement of capacity and energy, as Japan is transforming its electric power system, the company said.
The platform will start in 2021.
The deal comes after ABB and Hitachi concluded a partnership agreement in late 2017.
