ABB: wins 140 million dollars train order from Swiss client
(CercleFinance.com) - ABB said it has won an order worth more than 140 million dollars from Swiss train manufacturer Stadler to supply traction equipment for trains and locomotives to be sold in Europe and in the United States.
In the United States, the deal includes converters for 19 double-deck trains for Caltrain in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Swiss engineering group said.
The order also includes converters for 27 regional trains for Norwegian state-owned passenger transport operator NT, as well as 64 new trains for the region of Hanover, Germany.
Stadler has also ordered traction converters and traction transformers for 15 locomotives that will be operated in various countries, including France and Spain, ABB said.
