ABB: wins HVDC order in Japan
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss engineering group ABB has won an order from Chubu Electric for two blocks of frequency converter systems for a project that is being built in Japan.
The order - placed through the Hitachi-ABB joint venture - includes high-voltage direct current (HDVC) technology for transmitting large amounts of electricity between Eastern Japan and Western Japan, the company said.
The financial terms of this deal have not been disclosed.
