ABB: names new head of China
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss engineering firm ABB has named Sandvik's Zhiqiang Zhang as managing director for China, the group said in a statement on Friday.
Effective as from 1 October, Zhang will succeed Chunyuan Gu, who held the position in addition to his roles as chairman of ABB China and president of the Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region.
Zhang, a Chinese citizen, joins the company from Swedish tool maker Sandvik. Prior to that, he held executive positions at several other Western companies, including Nokia Siemens Networks.
ABB currently employs over 18,000 people in China.
