ABB: to form turnkey substation joint venture
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss engineering firm ABB and Canadian construction group SNC-Lavalin have agreed to form a new joint venture,
Linxon, to execute turnkey substation projects, the companies said on Friday.
Linxon will undertake turnkey electrical alternating current substation projects related to renewable and conventional power generation, power transmission and transportation projects, they said.
Its portfolio includes design, engineering, procurement, construction, management, commissioning and after-sales support.
The joint venture company will have an opening order backlog of around 340 million dollars.
Linxon is expected to begin operations from 1 September, with SNC-Lavalin having a majority and controlling interest in the firm.
