ABB: wins order for Iberdrola's Mexican wind farm
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss engineering group ABB is delivering static compensator technology which will be installed at Iberdrola's 220-MW wind farm in Puebla (Mexico), the company said on Thursday.
ABB's Statcom technology will increase the project's capacity, while improving transmission and reducing risks of voltage collapse and power outages, the company said.
The "Pier" farm is an extension of Iberdrola's successful "Pier II," which has a capacity of 66 MW, ABB said.
