ABB: wins 30 million dollars power link deal in Australia

(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss engineering group ABB has won an order worth 30 million dollars to modernise two high-voltage transmission links in Australia, the company said on Tuesday.

ABB will replace the control and protection systems for the Murraylink and Directlink high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission links that it installed nearly two decades ago.

The Directlink transmission system, which was commissioned in 2000, connects the states of New South Wales and Queensland, while the 180-kilometre Murraylink, which was commissioned in 2002, connects the states of South Australia and Victoria.
