ABB: signs collaboration deal with Kawasaki on robots.
(CercleFinance.com) - ABB will join forces with Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries to share knowledge and promote the benefits of collaborative robots, or "cobots", the Swiss engineering firm said on Monday.
In particular, the global cooperation - effective immediately - will focus on robots with dual arm designs, that enable tasks such as assembling small electronics.
The first result from this cooperation will be a collaborative dual arm robot demonstration at the International Robot Exhibition (IREX), to be held in Tokyo later this week.
