ABB: Brussels approves takeover of Bernecker + Rainer.
(CercleFinance.com) - There's some good news for ABB, which has just received approval from the European Commission for the acquisition of the Austrian group Bernecker + Rainer (B&R) industry-Elektronik.
Indeed, Brussels said that this deal did not pose any competition issues, considering these groups' moderate market shares and the few overlaps between the two groups' activities.
As a specialist in automation, B&R currently employs about 3,000 people.
