(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss specialty chemicals group Clariant said on Monday that it has started talks with White Tale after the activist investor forced the company to abandon its merger with US rival Huntsman last week.
In a press release, Clariant said it has started initial discussions with its shareholder regarding the company's new situation and "ways to work together in the future."
In particular, the talks deal with White Tale's desire to obtain seats on the company's board of directors, a request that will be discussed in the next board meeting, Clariant said.
