Clariant: gets FTC 'second request' on Huntsman deal.
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss speciality chemicals maker Clariant has said that the US Federal Trade Commission has asked for more information on its merger with US rival Huntsman, although has said that the demand was not expected to delay the deal.
The company received a "second request" letter from the FTC late yesterday about sodium isethionate, used in soap and shampoos, and a polyetheramine product used in construction and ink applications.
However, Clariant says that it is still confident that it will satisfy the FTC's concerns and continues to expect the merger to be completed towards the end of the year.
