Roche: Epstein-Barr test approved in US

The Swiss biopharmaceutical group said that the identification of the Epstein-Barr virus is important because it helps prevent the progression of serious diseases, such as cancer in transplant patients.
Roche previously obtained breakthrough device status for the test from the FDA, a decision that accelerated its approval by the US health authority.
