Roche: receives CE Mark approval for diabetes management app
(CercleFinance.com) - Roche said on Tuesday that it has received European regulatory approval for its app that determines blood glucose ranges by taking photos.
The Swiss drugmaker has obtained the CE Mark for its Accu-Chek SugarView app that uses a meter and two photos taken off a test strip with a smartphone camera.
The easy-to-use app is designed to help non-insulin-dependent people with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes, particularly in emerging markets where access to care and scarce healthcare resources are often limited, the group said.
