Roche: again extends offer for Spark Therapeutics
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss drugmaker Roche has again extended the deadline for Spark Therapeutics shareholders to accept its offer, giving itself more time to complete the acquisition of the US gene therapy company.
Roche said on Wednesday that it is extending the deadline for Spark shareholders to accept its 4.3 billion dollars bid until 3 September.
The offer - which was previously set to expire today - has been extended to provide extra time for the US Federal Trade Commission and the UK Competition and Markets Authority to complete their reviews of the deal, Roche said.
On 30 July, approximately 9.7 million shares of Spark had been validly tendered, representing just 25% of Spark's share capital.
