Roche: cobas system approved as companion test for Tagrisso
(CercleFinance.com) - Roche has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the cobas system to be used as a companion diagnostic test with AstraZeneca's Tagrisso for the treatment of patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, the Swiss drugmaker said.
This means the medical device will be allowed to provide information for the use of the cancer drug.
Yesterday AstraZeneca announced that the FDA approved Tagrisso for the first-line treatment of non-small cell lung cancer whose tumours have epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations, as detected by an FDA-approved test.
