4 million shares in its tender offer on US biotech firm Ignyta, which represents approximately 84.7% of all shares in issue, the Swiss drugmaker said on Thursday.
Later today, Roche intends to complete the acquisition of Ignyta by merging the firm with its Abingdon unit.
Following the merger's completion, Ignyta will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Roche: its shares will therefore no longer be traded on the Nasdaq.
Ignyta develops precisely targeted therapeutics guided by diagnostic tests for cancer patients.
