Roche: research agreement with Belgium's Confo Therapeutics
(CercleFinance.com) - Roche has entered into a research collaboration and license agreement with Belgian biotech startup Confo Therapeutics, the latter said on Tuesday.
The deal will focus on the discovery, development and marketing of small molecule agonists for the treatment of neurological and development disorders, Confo said.
Under the terms of the agreement, Roche will gain exclusive rights to the compounds resulting from the collaboration and will be responsible for their marketing.
The financial terms include an upfront payment, pre-clinical milestones and research funding to Confo Therapeutics amounting to 6 million euros over the first 30 months of the collaboration.
In addition, Confo Therapeutics is eligible to receive up to 81.5 million euros in milestone payments, plus royalties on annual net sales.
