Roche: launch of Cobas MRSA/SA test.
(CercleFinance.com) - Roche has announced the launch of the cobas MRSA/SA test for nucleic acid, an in-vitro diagnostic assay which is labelled CE and which targets methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Staphylococcus aureus (SA).
This test is designed to enable a rapid screening and surveillance of MRSA and SA, which are known causes of nosocomial infections, in emergency departments, intensive care units and laboratories performing emergency analyses.
Unlike crops, the cobas MRSA/SA test detects MRSA and SA in under 30 minutes, which enables pre-admission or surgical testing to be performed, thereby reducing the risk of transmission within hospitals.
