Novartis: agreement for acquisition in Japan
(CercleFinance.com) - Sandoz, the generic division of Novartis, announces a binding agreement to acquire the Japanese business of Aspen Global Incorporated, a subsidiary of Aspen Pharmacare, thereby strengthening its position in the world's third largest market for generics.
It provides for an initial payment of 300 million euros, to which could be added deferred payments of up to 100 million euros. Aspen's portfolio in Japan, which includes about 20 products, has annual sales of around 130 million euros.
