Zurich: optimistic tone after solid H1 results
(CercleFinance.com) - Zurich Insurance Group announced on Thursday that it had recorded its best half-year results in a decade, saying that it is confident in its ability to exceed targets set in its 2017-2019 program.
H1 net profit reached just over two billion dollars, up 14% from the 1.8 billion euros generated in the first six months of 2018.
The Swiss insurance group says that it has benefited from a drop in market volatility, an improvement in the profitability of its non-life insurance business and the development of its life insurance business, thanks to targeted acquisitions.
Zurich has also made good progress towards exceeding targets set in its latest 2017/2019 strategic plan.
Today, the Zurich share is up over 4% at 345.3 Swiss francs on the Swiss stockmarket after these results.
