Zurich: buys Hong Kong-based telematics firm Bright Box.
(CercleFinance.com) - Zurich Insurance has agreed to buy Bright Box, a Honk Kong-based startup that provides telematics solutions that link drivers to their vehicles.
The Swiss insurer said it has acquired 100% of the shares of Bright Box and its subsidiaries.
The deal will help Zurich to increase its focus on mobility, providing customers with "more tailored and convenient solutions," it said.
Zurich wants to enable digital interactions with car drivers and a closer collaboration with car dealers and manufacturers, thanks to data insights and analysis.
Bright Box, which was founded in 2012, provides telematics solutions that link drivers to their vehicles, and the vehicles to networks of car dealers and original equipment manufacturers.
