Barry Callebaut: 9-month sales revenue rise 2.9 percent.

(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss chocolate maker Barry Callebaut confirmed its medium-term guidance on Thursday, with the company reporting revenue that is up 2.
9% in local currencies in the nine months to the end of May.

The Zurich-based firm said sales reached almost 5.2 billion Swiss francs in the first 9 months of fiscal year 2016/17, compared to 5 million Swiss francs in the same period a year ago.

Sales volume, expressed in tonnes, rose 2.8% to 1.4 billion Swiss francs over the period.

The company, which makes chocolate for groups such as Mondelez International, expects the good momentum to continue and has confirmed its medium-term guidance, targeting 4-6% volume growth and EBIT above volume growth in local currencies.

Barry Callebaut said volume growth accelerated to 5.5% in the third-quarter.
