Bombardier: wins contract in Australia
(CercleFinance.com) - Bombardier Transportation has won the contract to install its next-generation, high-capacity rail control solution for the Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project, it was announced at lunchtime on Monday.
Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation, as part of the Rail Systems Alliance (RSA), has won the contract to install its next-generation, high-capacity rail control solution for the 11 billion AUD Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project, Victoria's largest ever investment in public transport.
The construction of this tunnel will require investments of 11 billion Australian dollars, which is the largest amount ever invested in public transport by the State of Victoria.
The RSA comprises Bombardier Transportation, CPB Contractors, Melbourne Metro Rail Authority and Metro Trains Melbourne. Bombardier will deliver the signalling and rail control solution and systems integration.
The signaling and communications contract awarded to the Rail Systems Alliance (RSA) by the Government of the State of Victoria is worth approximately 1.1 billion Australian dollars (c. 730 million euros). The contract is worth approximately 310 million Australian dollars (c. 202 million euros) for Bombardier.
