Bombardier: sells regional jet program to Mitsubishi Heavy
(CercleFinance.com) - Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy will acquire Bombardier's regional jet program for 550 million dollars in cash, the companies said on Tuesday.
Earlier this month, Bombardier and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries confirmed that they were in discussions for the sale of the regional jet airliners program.
The deal represents the completion of Bombardier's "aerospace transformation," said Alain Bellemare, the CEO of the Canadian plane and train maker.
Bombardier said it now plans to focus on its two growth pillars, its rail business, and its business jet franchise.
