Bombardier: wins extension to Maryland train deal
(CercleFinance.com) - Bombardier said on Monday that it had sealed a five-year extension to its current contract with the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) to provide rail operations and maintenance services in a deal valued at approximately 288 million dollars (233 million euros).
Bombardier has been providing operations and maintenance services for the commuting service, one of the largest transit systems in the United States, under a contract awarded in 2012.
The scope of work includes operations, maintenance of a fleet of diesel locomotives and rail cars including Bombardier vehicles, as well as the maintenance of the rail infrastructure.
