Umicore: to build a plant in Poland
(CercleFinance.com) - Umicore has announced that it has chosen Nysa in Poland, to build a first cathode material production site for the European automotive market, which will be based on the latest patented production technologies.
The first phase of this investment is included in the 660 million euro program that was announced earlier this year. It is expected to be operational by the end of 2020 and create up to 400 jobs.
Umicore has also decided to build a new process competence centre at its existing site in Olen in Belgium. This investment is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2019 and will result in the recruitment of approximately 20 researchers.
