AB InBev: to merge with Anadolu Efes in Russia and Ukraine.
(CercleFinance.com) - Anheuser-Busch InBev said on Wednesday it plans to combine its Russian and Ukrainian businesses with those of Turkish brewer Anadolu Efes.
The 50:50 merger would strengthen the position of both AB InBev's and Anadolu Efes' brands in these markets, aiming to become the leader of Russian and Ukrainian markets, AB InBev said.
The combined company - whose name would be AB InBev-Efes - would be fully consolidated in Anadolu Efes' financial accounts.
As a reminder, in October 2016 AB InBev took a stake of 24% in Anadolu Efes as part of the beer giant's merger with SABMiller.
