Ageas: still disagrees with Fortis case.
(CercleFinance.com) - Ageas has said that No agreement has been reached yet with the plaintiffs and therefore an extension of the filing period has been requested to the Court on a revised Fortis transaction that would address the main objections of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal, as expressed in its interim decision of 16 June 2017.
Therefore, the Belgian insurance company has requested the Court grant it an additional delay. All parties have agreed to continue discussions "with a view to achieving a reasonable and balanced solution for all stakeholders".
Ageas has decided to make a final extra effort of 100 million euros, which it believes will enable it to respond to the Court's main objections and take into account the commitments made previously to all the parties concerned.
