Galapagos: finalises agreement with Gilead
(CercleFinance.com) - Galapagos announces the finalisation of a global R&D collaboration agreement signed on 14 July with Gilead Sciences, after regulatory approvals were obtained in the US and Austria.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Belgian pharmaceutical company will receive an initial payment of 3.95 billion dollars, while Gilead has taken an equity stake of 1.1 billion dollars in it.
The latter has subscribed to nearly 13.6 million new Galapagos shares at a unit price of 140.59 euros, including issue premium, representing approximately 22% of shares currently in issue.
