GBL: names Ian Gallienne sole CEO as governance evolves
(CercleFinance.com) - Belgian holding company GBL said on Tuesday that Ian Gallienne will take over as its sole chief executive, completing an evolution of its governance after co-owner Albert Frere passed away last week.
The company said that Gerard Lamarche has decided not to request the renewal of his mandate of co-CEO, wanting to give a "new orientation" to his career after spending seven years with the group.
At the board level, Paul Desmarais Jr. - from the founding Desmarais family - will become board chairman, succeeding Gerard Frere who will become vice-chairman.
