Agfa-Gevaert: third-quarter net profit down.

(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday Belgian imaging technology group Agfa-Gevaert reported a 44% drop in its third-quarter profit, due to the euro's strength and adverse raw material effects.

The company, which specialises in hospital imaging systems and industrial printers, said that net profit over the period fell to 14 million euros from 25 million euros.

Revenue was down 5.1% at 593 million euros.

The group said in a statement that the study on how to reorganise its healthcare IT activities into a stand-alone legal entity is yielding encouraging results, with the first steps towards the execution of the plan having been initiated.

At 3.9 euros, the Agfa share was broadly unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange after these comments.
