KBC: 'well capitalised' under EU stress tests
(CercleFinance.com) - KBC on Monday said an EU test of banks' financial health showed the bank remained "adequately capitalised" under various possible economic scenarios.
Under the baseline scenario conducted by the European Banking Authority (EBA), KBC's fully-loaded Common Equity Tier-1 ratio reached 18.56%, compared to 15.96% at year-end 2017.
Under the adverse scenario, KBC's fully-loaded CET1 ratio would fall by 2.36% to 13.60%, the Dutch bank said.
Although there was no formal pass or fail mark in the latest stress tests, the EBA had previously set a 5.5% CET1 threshold for all banks in prior stress testing.
