KBC: H1 earnings up by a third.
(CercleFinance.com) - KBC has reported H1 2017 net profit of 1,485 million euros, i.
e. one third better than in the first six months of 2016, with exceptionally strong net profit of 855 million euros in Q2.
"Against the background of strong economic growth, low inflation, an appreciating euro and low interest rates, KBC delivered an exceptionally strong performance in the second quarter of 2017", commented the Belgian financial institution.
KBC highlights the volumes of loans and deposits, which, compared to last year, were up 4% and 8% respectively on a comparable basis, with the quarter including 78 million euros in net loan loss impairment releases.
