Solvay: steps up innovation in EV batteries
(CercleFinance.com) - Solvay announced on Tuesday that it intends to accelerate its innovation capabilities in batteries for electric vehicles thanks to new projects.
After opening a laboratory at its Solvay research centre near Paris at the beginning of the year, the chemical company has decided to set up a new pilot R&D line at La Rochelle.
There, Solvay plans to develop advanced inorganic materials for solid-state electrolytes, a key component of solid-state batteries, and to accelerate the scaling up of these elements.
The site is set to be fully operational in Q2 2022.
