Solvay: to double capacity of Solef PVDF in Changshu
(CercleFinance.com) - Solvay announces that it has more than doubled its production capacity of high-performance polymer polyvinylidene polyfluoride (PVDF) Solef at its Changshu, China manufacturing facility, to strengthen its leading position in lithium-ion batteries.
This project is part of the recently announced G.R.O.W. strategy, which consists of investing in sustainable high-growth solutions in materials. The new production site is expected to be commissioned by the first half of 2022.
"Sustainable mobility is driving double-digit growth demand for PVDF in applications in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles, where Asia is the largest market," the Belgian chemist said.
