Alcon: to join Switzerland benchmark stock index SMI
(CercleFinance.com) - Eye care firm Alcon will join the benchmark SMI share index from 9 April, on the same day of its spin-off from Novartis, stock exchange operator SIX said on Wednesday.
Alcon will replace private bank Julius Baer, whose market capitalisation was halved over the course of 2018.
The Swiss Market Index (SMI) covers the 20 largest and most liquid blue chip companies trading on the SIX Swiss Exchange.
