Walmart: 'Black Friday' rescheduled in three separate events

(CercleFinance.com) - Walmart said on Wednesday that it will spread out its "Black Friday" deals from one single day to three separate events across the month of November this year to prevent large crowds from gathering at its stores in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The US retailer said the offers will begin online on 4 November, and then in stores on 7 November, with a first round of deals on toys, electronics and home products.

Walmart's second event will start online 11 November, and then in stores on 14 November, with new deals on electronics like TVs, computers and tablets, the company said.

Walmart said it will end the month with a third event that will offer deals on more electronics, toys and gifts across apparel and home, as well as seasonal decor favourites.

"By spreading deals out across multiple days and making our hottest deals available online, we expect the Black Friday experience in our stores will be safer and more manageable for both our customers and our associates," said Scott McCall, chief merchandising officer for Walmart US.
