Microsoft: opens new datacentre region in Greece
(CercleFinance.com) - Microsoft said on Monday it would create its first datacentre region in Greece under a plan to skill approximately 100,000 people in the country in digital technologies by 2025.
The world's biggest software maker said it has a growing ecosystem of 3,000 partners and customers, including startups, enterprises and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
The datacentre region will join the company's footprint of 63 cloud regions, in over 140 countries.
"A Microsoft datacentre region provides a competitive advantage to our digital economy," commented Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, quoted in a press release.
